Nice! Three Articles by Kristen Baker-Geczy Named Finalists for Folio: Awards
Three articles written by Kristen Baker-Geczy for Auxiliary magazine, the quarterly publication of the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) National Headquarters, received the honor of being named finalists in the 2018 Folio: Eddie and Ozzie Awards. The awards are the most prestigious and inclusive program in the publishing community. Kristen Baker-Geczy is the owner of K.E.Baker Marketing.
“Ensuring our mission of service endures: ALA Foundation turns 10!” is a finalist in the Analysis category for association/nonprofit publications. The article appeared in the August 2017 issue of Auxiliary and covered the ALA Foundation’s 10-year anniversary celebration. Read the story here.
“ALA Girls Nation: Paying It Forward” details the ALA’s premier event – ALA Girls Nation. The article appeared in the November 2017 issue of Auxiliary magazine and is a finalist in the Single Article category for association/nonprofit publications. Read the story here.
“Showcasing Heart Through Art” appeared in the February 2018 issue of Auxiliary and covered the 2017 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival which is co-presented by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the ALA. Over 2,000 entries were submitted across 200 categories in both editorial (Eddie) and design (Ozzie) excellence. Other finalists in the same categories as the articles written by Baker-Geczy include AARP The Magazine, Adweek, Kiwanis by Kiwanis International, and Animal Sheltering by The Humane Society of the United States.
“To be in the company of such prestigious magazines and writers who are recognized daily for their editorial excellence is such a huge honor,” said Baker-Geczy. “Win or lose, to be recognized for the countless hours spent covering such in-depth topics is a career highlight.”
