I’ve had a passion for the communication arts for as long as I can remember. From entering (and winning) oratorical contests in grade school to writing my own fiction novel at 7-years-old (really wish I had kept a copy) to becoming my high school newspaper’s news editor – I am convinced that there’s a certain magic behind sharing one’s story through effective communication. A career in public relations always felt right to me.
I grew up in Panama City, Fla. and went to college at the University of West Florida where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations (communication arts with a specialization in public relations, to be exact). The real adventure started shortly after graduation when I took a leap of faith and decided to deploy with the U.S. Air Force as a civilian contractor to Southwest Asia where I served as a marketing assistant. That decision positively changed my life forever.
Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work for the Department of Defense, local and national nonprofits, and many small businesses. We PR folk don’t like to toot our own horn, however, I’ve had the pleasure of transforming public relations operations at various organizations to generate earned media coverage, boost attendance at events, raise brand awareness, and elevate community engagement, to name a few outcomes. My methods have included a unique blend of traditional and non-traditional PR tactics to get results – I’m really proud of that.
I am passionate about helping small businesses and nonprofits succeed. Why? Because I want to use my talents for good. I love working with others who equally want to do good in the world and just need a little help spreading their message. If you find yourself ready to take your organization’s public relations efforts to the next level then let’s have a chat and discover how we can tell your story.
